While I don’t usually quote Justin Bieber, ‘Never Say Never’ is the perfect title for this particular topic: dealing with failure. It happens to the best of us. We live in a world where there is only success and failure, nothing in between. But no one wants to be labeled as a failure. And no one should be.
“Many of life’s failures are men who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” –Thomas Edison
So how can you deal with failure?
Step 1: Accept that you’re going to make mistakes. It’s important to understand that you are only human and human’s make mistakes. It’s a part of life, but it’s not the end of the world. If you aren’t making mistakes, then you aren’t being challenged!
“We learn wisdom from failure much more than success. We often discover what we will do, by finding out what we will not do.” –Samuel Smiles
Step 2: Learn from your mistakes. Ask for help when you need it, figure out what the problem might be, and work to fix it! Don’t spend your life avoiding mistakes because then you’ll never know your personal limits or struggles!
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. –Confucius
Step 3: Move on! Don’t let yourself be defined by your mistakes. Learn from them and move on. Like I said, you’re only human and humans make mistakes. Don’t dwell on the past.
Thank you! I like that: “It is in our imperfections that we are the most human.”
Liked the point you made about not letting your mistakes define you. It is in our imperfections that we are the most human.
